CUBANOS from “CHEF”

Pulled pork, pickles, swiss cheese, ham ,dijon mustard in butter toasted cuban bread. Saw this in the movie “CHEF” and it’s a “broken” one. Little bit more cooking but the results will be awesome. Let’s do it.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 gr pulled pork (pork shoulder)
  • 3 ham slices
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 loaf cuban bread
  • 1 pickle sliced

Instructions
 

  • You will need a pan and an oven tray.
  • Preheat the oven at 170℃.
  • Put the pork shoulder on the oven tray and rub it with olive oil, salt,pepper, smoked paprika and garlic powder. Get a baking sheet and bath it into water. Cover the pork with the wet baking sheet like a blanket. Cover again all the oven tray with an aluminium foil. Bake in the oven for 1:30 hour.
  • Remove the tray and heat up to 220℃. Uncover the tray and bake for another 30min. Put some gloves on and and smash it! It must be soft as butter.
  • Heat up a pan. A drizzle of olive oil and lightly cook the ham.
  • Cut he cuban bread, spread mustard, add the ham, the pulled pork, pickles and top with cheese. Spread butter all over the sandwich with a spoon or a spatula.
  • Cook in the pan in medium heat for about 2:30 min per side or untill golden brown and cheese is melted.
